This project was funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, under the Earth System Science - Man and the Biosphere Programme. The authors would like to thank Mag. Dr. Günter Köck for the support over the project duration. Our special thanks go to the staff of the Biosphärenpark Wienerwald Management GmbH, especially to the Director Dr. Herbert Greisberger and to DI Harald Brenner for the productive collaboration throughout the project. In the project, the staff of the Biosphärenpark Wienerwald Management GmbH had two roles: they acted both as facilitators by providing data and hosting meetings, and as first receivers of the project results. The authors would like to thank the following data providers: - Wolfgang Schranz of the Biosphärenpark Wienerwald Management GmbH, for providing the geodata of the “Biotoptypenkartierung Offenland” and of the borders of the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve, and also for giving advice and background information on the geodata. - The Austrian Federal Forests (ÖBf) for providing forest geodata. - The Institute of Hydrobiology and Aquatic Ecosystem Management (IHG) of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences for providing geodata on the hydropower plants. - The Wienerwald Tourismus GmbH for providing geodata on the recreational trails. The authors are very grateful to Mag. Dr. Christa Hainz-Renetzeder, supervisor of the lecture “GIS-gestütztes Projekt” in the fall semester 2018/2019 at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, and to her students Lena Graf, Daniel Hartl, Eric Kraus, Michele Misztowt, Tobias Riffel and Theresa Rockenschaub for providing three case studies located in the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve and focussed on the spatial analysis of landscape services.
