The Vienna Yearbook of Population Research is a platinum open-access journal. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence; in exceptional cases and upon justified request by the authors, CC BY-ND may be applied. Article metadata are deposited with Crossref and made available under a CC0 Public Domain Dedication.

Article submission, processing and publication, including coloured graphs, are free of charge.

Articles are published online on a rolling basis. All articles are published as immediate open access without embargo and are freely accessible without subscription or registration. Full texts are available to read online and can be downloaded free of charge from the journal website in both PDF and machine-readable JATS/XML formats. The publication of the articles in JATS-XML and the re-design of the journal website were made possible through support from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) [PUZ 4-G].
